I get excited when Bookshop.org runs an offer, because it means I can do my Christmas book shopping and feel like I’ve done something good at the same time. This one is a nice and simple one. From 5 to 7 December 2025, if you buy any book on Bookshop.org, you will be entered into a draw to win a £250 Bookshop.org gift card. No codes, no fuss, just buy a book and you are in.
If you buy books every December the way I do, it is worth doing it now rather than next week.

Why Bookshop.org is the one I always nudge people towards
There are plenty of places that sell books, but Bookshop.org is the only one where I actually feel like my order matters. They exist to support independent bookshops, the proper ones with handwritten staff picks, creaky floors, mismatched furniture and booksellers who know exactly what you mean when you say, “I want something like that book I read two summers ago, the one about the bee guy”.
Buying from them sends money straight to those shops. You can choose a specific bookshop and they get 30% of the cover price, or you can leave it open and 10% goes into a shared fund that is split between participating indies.
The delivery is still quick, normally a day or two, and the packaging feels thoughtful and minimal rather than over the top.
It feels like the best of both worlds. Convenience for me, real support for the shops that give towns and high streets their personality.
And honestly, the timing is perfect
If you already buy books for people at Christmas, doing it between 5 and 7 December gives you a genuine chance to win something. A £250 gift card is a lot of books. More than enough to fill your shelves for next year.
It is essentially: do what you were going to do anyway, but with a bit of excitement attached.
Need ideas? Their Christmas Gift Guide is lovely
Bookshop.org’s Christmas Gift Guide is one of the nicest curated lists I have seen in a while.
There is something about scrolling their lists that feels calmer than other book sites. Less chaos, less noise. Just books that people genuinely enjoy.
A few books that are genuinely popular this Christmas
Here are some actual titles doing really well on Bookshop.org at the moment. These are the ones people keep gifting, talking about or slipping into Secret Santa bags.
A small choice that helps more than you realise
Bookshop.org is a B-Corp, so their whole structure is designed to support the public good. That is something you feel when you shop with them. It is not perfect marketing language, just a sense that your money goes somewhere meaningful instead of into a void.
Buying books this way keeps independent bookshops open, paid and part of the communities where they genuinely matter. And if you shop before 7 December, you might get rewarded for it.
If you are picking up Christmas reads or gifting books this year, Bookshop.org is absolutely worth a look. I buy from them anyway, but getting a chance to win a £250 gift card does not hurt.
